( PERUVIAN BOX DRUM ); Peruvian instrument created by descendants of  African slaves, coming to Perú with the Spanish arrival, and established in the Peruvian Coast. There is information of the box drum existence in the middle of  XIX centuries.

 This modest instrument is used in almost all the musical sorts of the Peruvian coast. In the 70th decade is included in the flamenco music, and nowadays is used in several countries and several musicals sorts. The Peruvian box drum is an instrument with endless musical possibilities.
